Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration will host a good grief group, a way to cope with death, life-threatening illness or other losses, from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, and continue for six consecutive Sundays. There is a $20 material fee.

The SPCA of Texas’ pet grief recovery counseling program will meet 1 p.m. the first Saturday of each month to help those who are grieving the loss of a beloved animal companion.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday at the SPCA headquarters conference room, 2400 Lonestar Drive in Dallas. Attendance is free.
Diane Pomerance, an SPCA volunteer and certified grief recovery specialist, along with trained volunteers, will administer a program incorporating telephone counseling, one-on-one and group guidance in a safe and supportive environment.
