Bill's Records, which was located at 8118 Spring Valley Road on the Richardson-Dallas border for 26 years, had to move to a smaller location at Southside on Lamar because of difficulty competing with discount stores.

Altrusa International Inc. of Richardson is accepting applications for its scholarship programs. To be eligible, applicants must be graduating seniors of a Richardson ISD high school or live in the city of Richardson and attend a public high school.
Selection will be based on financial need, character, scholastic ability, extra-curricular activities and a short essay.
Scholarships, which range from $500 to $2,500, may be used for undergraduate study at two- or four-year colleges or at technical or trade schools.

Fiona Sigalla, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas economist, will give a Texas economic review and provide 2007 prospects 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Holiday Inn Select, 1655 N. Central Expressway.
The presentation will be filled with statistics and information that will help building business plans or sales forecasts.
Sigalla helps write the Beige Book, which surveys 100 businesses representing every major regional industry and helps the Federal Reserve monitor the status of the regional economy. She also helps produce the Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey.
Cost is $20 Richardson Chamber of Commerce members and $25 prospective members if registered three days prior to the event. After the deadline, there will be a $10 surcharge.
