Calling aspiring young actors

Dallas Children’s Theater still has a few spots left in the DCT Academy spring 2007 classes at Rosewood Center for Family Arts in the Lake Highlands area.
Taught by professional actors, directors, playwrights and drama teachers, DCT’s classes focus on creativity, communication skills, collaborative problem-solving and performance techniques. Students will have the opportunity to perform in DCT’s Baker Theater and the smaller performing space, the Robyn Flatt Studio Theater.
This spring’s schedule will run from January 19 to April 21 and will feature some of DCT’s most popular classes including "Read It! Be It!", "Acting 101" and "Detective Dramas" for grades 2-3, and "Scene Study" for grades 4-6.
The teen conservatory holds classes designed for actors in training, ages 12 and up. New this year is "Scenes & Monologues", an advanced class in which students will focus on character development as they work on scenes and monologues. Other classes include "Improv I & II" and "Diction & Dialects".
Tuition is $200 for the 12-week period. For more information, contact DCT's Nancy Schaeffer at 214/978-0110, or nancy@dct.org or visit www.dct.org.
