Julia Wiegl will present “Eleven ways to make reading a part of your life” at the Richardson Newcomers and Neighbors Club coffee and breakfast meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 8, at a club member’s home. New members will be introduced at a social hour before the meeting.

Artists Hilda Adelson, JeanE McIntosh and Renee Wrenwood will share the exhibit From Truth to Abstraction: the Vision of Three Women Artists through Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Charles W. Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and during all public events. The public can meet the artists from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11. For more information, visit www.eisemanncenter.com.
Adelson’s works include clay and soft sculpture and appliqué wall hangings. Her clay dogs and standing cow sculptures have been displayed around the North Texas area.
McIntosh’s current series of paintings are about dance, water, reflection, movement and memories. The artist has been displayed at the New Orleans Museum of Art and in Dallas and Mississippi galleries.
Wrenwood, along with other Art Institute of McKinney Gallery members, painted a rainforest mural for the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center. Her works include landscapes, portraits, fantasies and botanicals that are predominantly in transparent watercolor.

Berkner High School counselors will welcome incoming Berkner freshmen from Apollo and Liberty junior high schools 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the BHS cafeteria, 1600 E. Spring Valley Road. The group will discuss new graduation requirements and offer parents and students a guided tour. Incoming freshmen will meet current Berkner students and talk with club members.
