RHS 5K
Excellence In Education
Saturday, March 3rd
What is the RHS 5K?
The RHS 5K is a certified 5K (approx. 3.3 miles) run/walk that directly benefits each student's academic experience at Richardson High School. Proceeds from the race are utilized to enhance our academic course offerings through tutoring, purchase on instructional materials and extended library hours.
Where and when is the RHS 5K?
Saturday, March 3rd from 8:30 am until 11:00 am at Richardson High School's Eagle Stadium. The course begins at the stadium, winds its way through neighborhood streets and back to Eagle Stadium.
For those who do not wish to run or walk - but want to volunteer - please contact Mr. Hall, the senior principal, at henry.hall@risd.org.
Why should my child participate?
In addition to the obvious health, recreational and social benefits - each of the classes - Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen have been challenged to have the highest participation rate. The class with the highest participation will be named the winner and have their class's name inscribed on the RHS 5K Trophy to be displayed prominently at the school.
How can I participate?
There are many way to participate in the 5K - register and run; donate directly to the Excellence in Education Fund or volunteer to work the race. For more information on how to donate or volunteer - contact Seana Vissotsky at seanviss@sbcglobal.net.
