A Taste of Berkner is the theme for L.V. Berkner High School's annual multicultural open house scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in the high-school cafeteria in Richardson.
Parents and community members will be welcomed by the principal Ron Griffen and the PTA then have an opportunity to visit classrooms and enjoy student projects.
A multicultural celebration will begin at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria and will include a chili cook-off judged by superintendent David Simmons, deputy superintendent Patti Kieker and Richardson councilman Bob Townsend.
The remainder of the evening will be filled with student performances and cultural presentations and tastes of international foods prepared by Berkner parents and local restaurants. The public is welcome at the free event.
