The fifth annual Students Against Terrorism “Points For Peace” basketball tournament is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 11, Aaron Family Jewish Community Center in North Dallas.
Teams will play to help support Israel’s victims of terrorism with proceeds of this year’s event will be donated to One Family Fund's Lifeline to the North.
“We decided to support One Family Fund Lifeline to the North because of the recent war with Lebanon,” said SAT president Dana Rosenberg. “It’s important for us as students to let our brothers and sisters know that we have not forgotten what happened this summer. One Family Fund is an extraordinary program because they help the victims rebuild their lives as much as possible.”
General admission to the event is free.

Collin County Ballet Theater and Plano Symphony Orchestra will present “An Evening of Rising Stars”, including pianist Evan Ritter of Richardson, at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts.
Ten-year-old Ritter, who was the grand prize winner of the 2007 Collin County Young Artist Competition, is one of several top prize winners who will perform.
Collin County Ballet dancers will join the symphony in performances ranging from the tango to the waltz featuring scores from the music of Dvorak's famed "Slavonic Dances" to the strains of Johann Strauss's "On the Beautiful Blue Danube."
Advance tickets range from $9 to $70, and student and group tickets are available. Tickets cost $2 more at the door. To order, call the Plano Symphony at 972-473-7262.

The Dallas Area Classic Chevy Club will host its annual Spring Classic Chevy Show featuring 1955-57 models from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Reliable Chevrolet, East Arapaho Road and Central Expressway in Richardson.
More than 60 vintage cars, trucks and Corvettes will be on display. Free hot dogs will be provided in honor of the 50th anniversary of the 1957 Chevrolet.

Medical City "Ask A Specialist" program for runners, walkers and cyclists visits White Rock Lake with free water and health information provided by dietary specialists, diabetes educators and internal medicine specialists from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10. The station will be located on south side of West Lawther Drive between Branchfield and Fisher.
