Chinese Lion Dancers from the J.K. Wong Kungfu Tai Chi Academy will perform at the Richardson Public Library at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17.
Two Lions will perform accompanied by traditional drum music.
The Lion Dance is performed for the Chinese New Year and for other occasions. Tradition says the Lion Dancers will bring spectators good luck the coming year.
The Lion Dance will be outside at the library’s Fountain Plaza, or inside on the library’s first floor in case of bad weather.
The Lion Dance group from the J.K. Wong Academy has performed nationally and internationally and has competed in World Championships. Master Jimmy K. Wong was recently named Instructor of the Year by Inside Kungfu magazine.
