Local band Cherry Top Scatter won a battle of the bands March 3 at the Deep Ellum hotspot The Door.
They competed against five bands from North Texas – Grandma Dynamite of Dallas, MachineGun Green Eyes of Commerce, Lindby of Flower Mound, System Saved of Midlothian and Last Day Living of Commerce.
Cherry Top Scatter comprises four seniors from J.J. Pearce High School: Paul Adams on bass, J.J. Alexander on drums, David Chung on guitar and Grant Hollowell on vocals. They play a wide range of music from rock to “chill.”
The band won $300 for their victory and a chance to play again as the headline band sometime in March.
